A Warm Welcome awaits you at The Rose and Crown Trent.

This picturesque rural gem dates back to the 14th century, when it was built to house the builders of St Andrews church spire. It still maintains rustic charm and hosts original features of a thatched roof, beams, large fireplaces and flagstone floors.

Now in the heart of the Ernest Cook Trust estate that surrounds Trent village, it is steeped in history. King Charles the 2nd hid at Trent House, the home of Colonel Francis Wyndham, for several days whilst attempting to escape to France.

The pub was brought to its prime in more recent years with the infamous landlord “Buff Biggins” and his legend still lives in the pub now.

There is a choice of alfresco dinning in the beer garden or just outside the front of the pub. The Barrow lounge is now a wonderful relaxing area of the pub with a large open fire and comfortable leather sofa. The restaurant has wonderful views out over the valley and the far end of the main bar looks out over the fields and all the way to Nether Compton.

The food compliments it’s surrounding with good quality local produce with some traditional British food dishes, entwined with some of Chef’s own creations that diversify from a simple sandwich to a Fillet Steak.

The Ales are from Wadworth Brewery, based in Devizes, their best seller 6X always available with 3 other ales on tap all kept immaculately.

We welcome all, the restaurant is a wonderful private venue for all events, walking groups, private parties, Weddings and engagements, Shoot parties, birthday parties, funerals along with all corporate events.

Come along and meet the team, we look forward to welcoming you to the pub and restaurant.
